I voted today!
I took Elijah with me and asked him, "Who would you vote for?"
"The guy with dark skin," he answered.
{GASP} "WHY?"
"I vote for all the people who look cool. I like that he's nice."
[If he would've said the word CHANGE I would've smacked him]

After explaining to him what is not nice about Obama, I said...
"We need to trust God that he has a plan and he will pick the winner."
Elijah said, "God wants us to love everybody, Mom."
"Yes, he does. But, we are to vote for those who believe the same as us, not just because they look cool. Obama is not a christian."
I then said, "He's a democrat."
Elijah asked, "What's that?"
I said, "A group of people who think differently from Mommy and Dad."
"OOOOOOH!"
I never told him that his decision, or vote, was wrong, I just educated him on how he should make his decisions, and that he should inform himself on the issues. I agreed that Obama DOES look cool. Elijah then confided in me, "MOM, you always fast forward the commercials and that's when I could've heard about them. How am I supposed to know?"


After that we arrived at home and Elijah said,
"Brianna, who would you vote for?"
She said,
"The guy without the brown skin."
I asked her, "WHY?"
She said, "I don't know. That's who you like."



Here we go again. As much as I'd like her to do what I do, I want her to be informed.
